Small saucepan

4 people

500 ml freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

125 ml orange juice (optional)

125 g caster sugar

125 ml water

1 scotch bonnet (optional)

100 g milk/ dark chocolate (optional)

RECIPE STEPS
1Place your sugar and water in a small saucepan, along with your scotch bonnet if you're using. Place on a low heat and stir to combine. Wait until your sugar melts and the syrup starts to bubble and then take off the heat. Set aside to cool.
  • 125 g caster sugar
  • 125 ml water
2Juice your grapefruits, and add the orange juice if you're using, then strain through a sieve. If you're using the Magimix Extra Press XL Kit Accessory to juice, no need to sieve.
  • 500 ml freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 125 ml orange juice (optional)
3Remove the scotch bonnet from the sugar syrup after 15 minutes, and finely chop if you wish to add it into the sorbet, the flecks of red are a nice touch.
  • 1 scotch bonnet (optional)
4In a medium mixing bowl add your sugar syrup, grapefruit juice, orange juice and scotch bonnet if using, and stir to combine.
5Set aside in the fridge to chill.
6Once chilled, place your mixture in the Gelato Expert and churn on the sorbet setting until ready.
7While churning, melt some dark or milk chocolate in a small bowl over a pan of barely simmering water, making sure the water doesn't touch the bowl. Once melted, set aside.
8Serve up your sorbet and pour your melted chocolate over, and serve. Enjoy!
