Quick and Easy Vanilla ice cream




1 L Cream ( 4 cups )
500 ml Full Cream milk (2 cups)
320 g Caster sugar ( 1 and 1/2 cup)
1 pinch salt
1 tbsp vanilla extract or other flavors e.g coffee, chocolate, pureed fruit....

Why do we use the gelato function instead of ice cream? Also my quantity was too much for the bowl, it would have overflowed. Kept some back to churn after.
no pre chilling required - just room temperature and it works
lovely creamy smooth flavour. way too much for one batch - refrigerated the rest to make a second batch
what type of cream should this be? in the UK we can buy single, double, whipped, etc...
Amazing taste and the best home made vanilla icecream ever, it is a lot for one batch, so I use half and keep other half in fridge ready to make another lot when 1st lot has finished! I am in the UK and I use double cream & also use Taylor & Colledge vanilla bean extract (the best I have found) comes in a 100ml bottle so lasts longer! Making a batch right now! yum
