FAQ GELATO EXPERT
USE
1- Can I pause the machine?
You can halt the paddle at any time to check the consistency of your ice-cream or take out a few scoops. Simply press the selected cycle for 1 second. When the machine is on pause, the button flashes quickly. To end the pause and resume the automatic cycle, simply press the button corresponding to that cycle for at least 1 second. Without any further action from you, the machine will automatically switch itself off after 4 minutes.
2- How do I stop the machine?
Press the selected cycle button (or the snowflake/OFF for 1 second).
3- How will I know when my ice cream is done?
Once your ice cream or sorbet is ready, the machine automatically switches to storage mode for 2 hours. You will know when your appliance is in storage mode as the button flashes slowly. It allows you to add ingredients (chocolate chips, crushed dried fruit, etc.) just before serving your ice cream.
4- What do I need to put in between the bowls?
If using the removable bowl of the Gelato Expert, we recommend using food grade alcohol (example: vodka) and pouring 35ml (using the measuring cup provided) into the fixed bowl before placing your removable bowl.
5- What happens on storage mode?
When the automatic cycle is finished and your ice-cream is ready in expert mode, the machine automatically switches to storage mode for 2 hours. When storage mode is active, the indicator light blinks slowly. This function means that your preparation can be kept at the right temperature and consistency. It allows ingredients to be added (chocolate chips, ground nuts, etc.) 5 minutes before serving your ice-cream. Wait for the end of an automatic churning cycle for best results. Pausing the storage cycle You can stop the blade and freezer unit momentarily at any time to check the consistency of your ice-cream or take out a few scoops. To do so, press the button corresponding to that cycle for at least 1 second. When the appliance is on pause, the indicator light blinks quickly. To end the pause and start the cycle up again, press the button corresponding to that cycle for at least 1 second. Without any further action from you, the machine will automatically switch off after 4 minutes.
6- What is the alcohol/brine solution for?
The solution conducts the cold effectively between the fixed bowl and removable bowl so you can enjoy your ice cream sooner.
7- What is the capacity?
As the volume of ice cream can increase dramatically, depending on the recipe, only fill the bowl half full for Gelato ice cream at the start. As sorbets do not increase so much in volume, the bowl can be two-thirds full to begin with.
8- Why is my finished ice cream soft?
The professional-quality ice-cream that you can make with your Gelato Expert has a more elastic and creamier consistency than the commercial ice-cream available on the market.
